They met arguing over the last copy of a second-hand Sukumar Ray at the College Street book stalls, and have been sharing a bookshelf ever since.

Illustrated Gaye Holud in a Kolkata courtyard: the bride in a yellow red-bordered sari sits on an alpana-painted stool while married women apply turmeric and blow a conch, with the groom’s family’s gift trays and a decorated fish on a bench beside them.

Turmeric and conch shells in the morning light; the courtyard sings her into marriage.

Illustrated Bengali wedding at night: the bride in red Benarasi and a white shola crown, carried on a stool by four young men, lowers two betel leaves to see the groom in his tall white topor, under a chhadnatala with banana plants at its corners.

Seven circles, two betel leaves lowered, and the first look that lasts a lifetime.

Illustrated Bou Bhaat in a Chandannagar garden at dusk: the groom holds out a plate with a new red sari and rice to the bride in crimson Benarasi and sindoor, his family seated behind them beside a mango tree hung with lamps.

A plate of rice, a new sari, and a promise: her home is here.

We design bespoke wedding websites: your invitation and every event, with maps and RSVPs for your guests, and it can live on your own domain (like yournames.com). We take on a small number of weddings at a time, so our designer reads every enquiry personally.

If it isn’t an Indian number, please include the country code.

A month is fine if the dates aren’t fixed.
