Privacy
Your details, and what we do with them.
In plain words: what our enquiry form collects, why, where it’s kept, for how long, and how to have it deleted. It’s written with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.
What the form asks for
Five things, kept exactly as you type them:
- both your names
- a WhatsApp number to reach you on
- your Instagram handle, if you choose to share it
- when the wedding is
- when you’d like your website ready
If you fill in “Anything else you’d like us to know?”, we keep that too. We don’t ask for your guests’ details, and the form doesn’t take photos or files.
Separately, the site sends anonymous reports when something fails or loads slowly; see Cookies and tracking.
Why we ask
Only so that our designer can message you on WhatsApp about your wedding website and give you a quote. We never sell your details, never use them for advertising, and never add you to a mailing list.
By sending your answers you agree to us using them this way. You can change your mind at any time (see below).
Where it’s kept
Our website runs on Cloudflare, so your enquiry is stored with Cloudflare. When you send it, a copy is emailed to the studio’s inbox, which is a Gmail account (Google). Once we talk on WhatsApp, those messages are on WhatsApp, as with any conversation there.
Cloudflare and Google keep this for us as our service providers; nothing is public.
Who sees it
Only the studio: the designer who reads your enquiry and gets in touch. We don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry until six months after your wedding date, then delete it. If we can’t tell the date from what you wrote (say, “not decided yet”), we delete it 18 months after you sent it.
The copy in our Gmail inbox is deleted on the same schedule. You can ask us to delete it all sooner, at any time.
Cookies and tracking
We don’t use cookies, advertising or tracking ids.
To keep bots out, Cloudflare Turnstile checks in the background that a person is sending the form.
To fix problems quickly, the site counts page visits, errors and how quickly pages load: which page, the country, the type of browser and the screen size. If the form fails to send, it reports only that it failed and how, never what you typed. None of this records your IP address or anything that identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent. Write to hello@theweddingfable.com with the names you gave in the form, and we’ll reply to let you know once it’s done.
If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
